How to use The Book Pl@ce
General
Searching
Our web site gives you access to over 1.2 million different titles. On
each page there's a Quick Search box that allows you to search our
entire database by Title, Author or Keyword. If you can't find the
product you want right away, try Detailed Search to refine your
choice. Alternatively, to see what's available across a wide range of
subject categories, scroll down the Choose Subject bar and choose a
general subject area. You'll then be given a list of subheadings so
that you can narrow your choice.
Quick Search
by Title
To find a particular book, type the title in the Quick Search box and
click the 'GO' button, and we'll locate details of the exact title or,
if there isn't one, the nearest match. When you are not sure of the
complete wording in the title but know it contains a particular word,
just type in the word, or preferably words if you know more than one,
and all the titles containing this word will appear.

by Author
If you want to see a list of what's available for a particular author,
type the author's name in the Quick Search box and click the 'GO'
button, using the full name if you know it. The results will also
include works to which that author has contributed.

Our search engine is comprehensive in that it recognises words from
the title, author, subject or description of the book, so that you can
use the most flexible searching mechanism in order to find your chosen
item. There are several ways to use the 'keyword' quick search. For
instance if you have a particular area of interest, or a passion for
something unusual, you can find books related to that subject very
quickly.
